We work within a coordinated partnership response to domestic violence to provide independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women, children and young people and women’s community services for women who are involved in the criminal justice system, in anti-social behaviour or are at risk of breaking the law.

Job Title * :  Duty Worker 

Contract: Fixed Term Contract until March  2020

Grade/salary: starting from £24,000 – 26,000 per annum (Inc. London Weighting) depending upon experience

Annual Leave: 30 days plus public holidays

Pension: workplace pension

Working hours: 35 hours per week

Advance has an entry level post suitable for someone with a passion for supporting survivors of domestic abuse and transferable skills who wants to start their career within the field of Violence Against Women & Girls. The Duty Worker will be the first point of contact for survivors approaching the service for support. They will be required to process incoming referrals, carry out risk assessments, and provide safety planning and short term support. The Duty worker will work within a dynamic, fast paced team to provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and support that empowers women and ensures that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. The Duty Worker will work within a well-established and supportive team to provide high quality advocacy and support based upon client led needs and risk assessment.

Advance will endeavour to provide exciting continued professional development, affording the post holder the opportunity to progress their skills and knowledge working with vulnerable people in society. The post holders will be part of a supportive team of professionals, many with various specialisms so there is lots of cross learning amongst the teams.
