Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week

Salary: Starting from £50,000 – £60,000 per annum (inc. London Weighting) depending on experience*

(*£50,000 paid for those with less experience; £60,000 paid for those with considerable skills and experience in similar or transferrable roles.)

Work Location:  Based at our Hammersmith office.  Some limited travel to other London and UK locations required.

This is a key senior leadership role, reporting to the Chief Executive, and managing a small team covering finance and other business services for the organisation. It is an exciting time to join Advance and you will have the opportunity to drive improvements in how we work. You will:

  • Lead on budgeting, financial management and reporting and work closely with the Chief Executive to provide effective financial direction to the Treasurer, Finance Committee and the Board of Trustees
  • Provide strategic financial and business services direction and oversight across the organisation, working closely with the Chief Executive and the Directors of Programmes.
  • Be responsible for efficient polices, procedures, systems and practices to support the smooth running of the organisation.
  • Be pro-active in developing new systems and services to meet the needs of the organisation as it grows.
  • Be responsible for overseeing outsourced providers, including IT and Telecoms.
  • Manage external advisors and relationships with banks, auditors, legal, tax and other business services providers, ensuring value for money, contractual compliance, evaluation and quality assurance processes.

  • Experience of financial management.
  • Effective use of administrative systems and a proven ability to both motivate and be part of effective teams.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, being proactive and solution-focussed
  • Ability to access information about IT, facilities and other business services matters.
